Born and raised in Canada, even as a young child Judie had a devoted interest for the arts. She became engaged in health and environmental issues at the age of 21.
Since 1999, Judie has been aggressively researching a wide range of subjects, particularly those pertaining to human health and environmental issues. She has written for local, regional and national publications and is well versed in chemicals in consumer products and the harmful effects of pesticides.
Judie has been secretary for the Northeast Avalon Sierra Club, Editor and creator of the Northeast Avalon SCC newsletter, Author of the daily pesticide spray advisory, member of the Organic Landscape Alliance, The Organic Consumers Association, The Wellness Coalition, The Writers Alliance and graduated from London School of Journalism with a diploma in Freelance Writing & Journalism.
Writer, amateur photographer & sketch artist, she enjoys raising organic pet chickens, walking, wildcrafting, organic gardening, seed saving, cooking and has a passion for architecture and home design. She and her husband along with their 20-year-old beloved dog, live in a home that has been built and maintained without the use of toxic chemicals.
As a freelance writer and environmental educator living on the east coast of Canada, Judie has completed several courses in writing, however she considers her true education to be her life experiences and endless research.
